Christina Meucci | 
​Founder + Senior Sports Medicine Provider

Christina is a Certified Athletic Trainer & Corrective Exercise Specialist with a passion for sports medicine, fitness, and personal development. As a former collegiate athlete, she found there is a gap in accessible sports medicine care outside the arena of collegiate or professional sports.

Christina's mission is to be a resource for the Berkshire community to increase accessibility and education around what sports medicine is, why it’s important, and how holistic alternative modalities aren’t just for professional athletes. 

​With a Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training from Salem State University, and a Master's Degree in Applied Exercise Science, concentration in Human Movement from Concordia University Chicago, Christina has continued her training with additional certifications as a Corrective Exercise Specialist; RockTape, RockPods, and RockBlades Certified FM1-Basic provider; Graston Technique Certified practitioner; Integrative Dry Needling Certified provider; and most recently becoming a certified Owen's Recovery Bloodflow Restriction provider.

Christina has experience working with an array of individuals ranging from professional motocross, Barrington Stage, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, to athletic organizations like East Coast Prep Post-Graduate Football, RIP City Academy's AAU travel teams, Atlantic Coast Hockey Academy U15 - U18 AAA, Pittsfield Sun's FBCL Collegiate Baseball athletes; local elite runners and cyclists, to everyday athletes and those with undiagnosed pain.

By opening The Recovery Room, Christina and her team offer elite sports medicine for every day athletes, preparing individuals for athletic endeavors or helping to recover from an injury that might be holding them back. The Recovery Room's alternative treatments and unique perspective aim at addressing the root cause rather than just alleviating the symptoms.

Angie Harting |
Sports Medicine Assistant

Angie is an accomplished sports medicine assistant with a diverse educational background. As a licensed massage therapist with a a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training from Salem State University, and an Associate’s Degree from Bay State College’s Physical Therapist Assistant program, Angie has honed her skills to provide comprehensive care to her patients, cultivating a reputation for dedication and compassion throughout her career.

Over her career, she has worked with a diverse population base, including individuals pre and post surgical procedures, motor vehicle accidents, work and sports-related injuries, and overuse injuries. Her professional interests lie in sports injuries and rehabilitation, where she leverages her expertise to facilitate recovery and optimize performance. 

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Angie is passionate about breaking down language barriers and ensuring effective patient communication. She believes in empowering individuals to actively participate in their healing process by providing them with the knowledge and tools necessary for injury management, prevention and pain relief.

Angie is excited to be furthering her education to become a Corrective Exercise Specialist and pursuing certifications in RockPods, RockBlades, and Graston Technique, expanding her diverse skillset here at The Recovery Room.

Natalie Zema |
Sports Medicine Intern

Meet Natalie, a passionate sports medicine intern dedicated to optimizing athlete performance and well-being. Graduating from the University of Rhode Island with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and a concentration in applied exercise science, Natalie brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to the table. During her time at URI, she honed her skills through internships with the Strength & Conditioning and Sports Medicine departments, supporting Division 1 sports teams.

With two years of experience as a personal trainer in Chatham and East Greenbush, NY, Natalie has worked with individuals of all ages, empowering them to reach their fitness goals. Her background in competitive sports, including club crew at URI, soccer, track and field, and 15 years of dance in the Berkshires, has instilled in her a deep understanding of athletic performance and injury prevention.

Driven by a desire to make a positive impact on athlete recovery and rehabilitation, Natalie is drawn to the field of sports medicine. With her blend of academic knowledge, practical experience, and genuine passion for helping others, Natalie is poised to excel in her journey towards becoming a leading sports medicine professional.

Gretchen Bonnell |
​​Operations Manager

Gretchen is a born leader, helping The Recovery Room develop and grow to serve the Berkshires community. You can find Gretchen welcoming you at the reception desk, scheduling appointments, or helping guests clip into the Normatec to enjoy the Power Hour service. 

With 20 years experience in the healthcare industry as an administrator, working at Howard Young Hospital as an ICU Health Unit Coordinator and Telemetry Technician, the UltraWellness Center as a Lab Coordinator, and Medical Office Supervisor for Canyon Ranch, she is able to bring creative and realistic solutions to our guests issues.
